Turkish PÖH Collection and Great Conquests Battle Pass

On December 11, a new operator collection will be presented in the release version of Caliber: PÖH (Polis Özel Harekât, or Police Special Action). This elite group is based on a real unit formed in the early 1980's that had proven themselves as one of the most professional rapid response units.

LANDMARKS

The Turkish Police Special Action – Polis Özel Harekât (PÖH) – was created in 1983 as a response to the increasing threat of international terrorism. The tragic cases, such as the terrorist attack at the München Olympic Games, hostage taking, aircraft hijackings and the kidnappings of the politicians that happened in Europe and the Middle East, acted as the final push for forming this unit.

When creating the PÖH, the Turkish government has closely studied the experience of then-recently formed foreign counter-terrorist units, such as the British SAS, French RAID and German Spezialeinsatzkommando (SEK). They based their unit on the German SEK, adapting it to the national circumstances and objectives.

The PÖH response teams are posted at the large cities of Turkey and are ready for action 24/7. The main objectives of the unit include apprehending members of the organized crime groups, freeing hostages and ensuring the safety of the high-ranking government officials. Similar to the French RAID, PÖH also guards diplomats while travelling abroad.

An interesting fact: despite the large assortment of weaponry and equipment that is presented on the global market, Polis Özel Harekât mainly use the Turkey-manufactured products, emphasizing their commitment to national technologies.

PÖH COLLECTION

We present you the PÖH collection – the elite Turkish special forces whose versatility and effectiveness make them a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. These operators are able to adapt to any situations, and can become a real threat to their enemies during critical moments while running low on health.

Practicing enemy exhaustion tactic, inflicting bleeding, and the support of high-tech drones, PÖH dominate even during the direst times, turning the tides of battle in their favor.

OPERATORS

Yusuf "Saif" Ozdemir, 32 years old.

Born in Izmir, Yusuf grew up in an ordinary family. His parents wished for him to get a solid education, but Yusuf always looked up to his uncle, his father’s brother, a military man. His mother and father strongly disapproved of their son’s fascination with the military. His father and uncle weren’t exactly on good terms, which added fuel to the fire and caused continuous fights between Yusuf and his parents. It was after one of these fights that Yusuf, who was draft-aged at the time, gave up his studies and went to the recruiting office to enroll. At first, he intended to serve his term to spite his parents before returning to civilian life. As time passed, however, he realized he belonged in the military, and decided to stay. Saif’s diligent service and combat merits saw him promoted and later transferred to SWAT, where he serves to this day.

Saif’s tenacity and determination, acquired in childhood, help him lead his team. Together, they take their enemies by surprise, leaving them no chance for victory. Proactive in combat, Saif binds his opponents, making them easy targets for the rest of his team.
Serkan "Aslan" Kiliç, 35 years old.

Born and raised on the outskirts of Bursa, Serkan helped in a small body shop run by his father, getting used to manual labor from an early age and learning cars and other machines. Since he devoted nearly all of his free time to the family business, Serkan had to be home-schooled. At 21, he joined the army, setting his heart on succeeding in the service and earning money to support his elderly parents. His branch of service sent him to the southeast, where an ethnic conflict soon broke out. Soldiers were sent to fight, and Serkan’s squad was among them. Thanks to his physical fitness and knowledge of machines, Serkan ended up in a unit specializing in cutting-edge drones and experimental technologies. When the conflict was settled, he was able to transfer into an elite Special Ops unit that also worked with machines. Proving himself a great fighter and protector of his term, he was nicknamed Aslan by his fellow officers, a moniker he later adopted as his callsign.

In combat, Aslan covers and defends his team by deploying a special drone. If forced into a direct confrontation, he wields a machine gun that he handles as skillfully as his gadgets.
Recep "Sungur" Yilmaz, 33 years old.

Raised in a typical family of doctors, where children follow in their parents’ footsteps. Young Recep was no exception: after graduating from college, he went to medical school. He then joined the army for six months before returning to civilian life, where he planned on continuing his medical practice to become a surgeon in a prestigious clinic. However, life had other plans. A terrorist attack caught Recep and his girlfriend at a concert in Istanbul. Recep was the only doctor on the scene and tended to the injured until paramedics and Special Ops arrived. Even then, he continued to help, driven by his duty of care. This incident deeply affected Recep. A moment’s consideration, and he abandoned his practice for the recruiting office, looking to re-enlist as a military medic. He found success in the service, and the order soon came for his transfer to the SWAT unit led by Aslan. Under his leadership, Sungur quickly grew familiar with drones and other equipment used by the unit, becoming a safe cover and support for his comrades.

Sungur prefers to operate at a distance, away from enemy fire. Having mastered technology, he uses drones to support his team and cutting-edge medical developments to get his teammates back on their feet when things get tough.
Fatih "Tirkesh" Avci, 37 years old.

Fatih always gravitated towards sports. His mother, who had been a teacher, insisted on less combative options, enrolling him in a swimming class. He quickly lost interest and quit. Like many young men, Fatih was drawn to rougher pursuits like archery, boxing, and martial arts. After an argument, his father took the boy’s side, and Fatih was finally allowed to do what he wanted. So, at the age of 17, he took a target shooting class. A keen learner, Fatih excelled, even winning a prize in a regional competition. He met his girlfriend at the class, to whom he proposed three years later. However, they were unable to get married due to Fatih being called up for military service, where he was assigned immediately to a rifle unit. There, he continued to sharpen his skills, specifically with sniper rifles.

Shortly before the end of his service, Tirkesh learned that his fiancee had left him for someone else. Looking to run from his heartbreak, Fatih threw himself into the service. Continued practice at the shooting range, along with tours in combat zones, allowed him to polish off his shooting and ground navigation skills almost to perfection.

A few years later, Tirkesh was transferred to an elite Special Ops unit. During a mission, he was wounded by a stray bullet and ended up in a military hospital, where he met his future wife: the surgeon who operated on him.

Today, Tirkesh continues to serve in SWAT, and is one of the best marksmen in his unit. His callsign is no accident. Like a falcon, Tirkesh controls the entire battlefield with camera drones, attacking swiftly, unexpectedly, and with incredible accuracy.
