Avant-garde is armed with a Vepr-12 semi-automatic shotgun that allows him to annihilate enemies in mere seconds, and his GLI-F4 instant tear gas grenade inflicts the Stunned and Poisoned effects to weaken the enemy before engaging them in close combat. Avant-garde’s primary ability, Payback, protects him with a shields that absorbs and reflects firearms damage back at the enemy, but also makes him visible for the duration of the ability.
