RE: Balance — update 0.22.1

Hello everyone!

With the upcoming RE: Balance, we will be adding changes to the Stamina system for the first time in a long while. We will also add ability charges to Velour and Schatz, buff Marksman Kurt, and improve a number of skills.

As usual, Recruit has provided a short video summary. The full version can be found in the article below.

RUN, OPERATOR, RUN!

With update 0.22.1, operators will be able to sprint even with zero Stamina. This feature will be known as Weak Sprint.

Weak Sprint is slower than the regular Sprint. Its speed is calculated as follows:

You can find out how fast your favorite operator will run right away. Here’s an example for clarity:

Assault Recruit’s movement speed is 3.5, and his Sprint speed is 5.2.

(5.2 — 3.5) * 0.33 + 3.5= 4.061

So, Assault Recruit will have a Weak Sprint speed of 4.1.

This is the first change to the Stamina system. Possible future changes will be shaped by your feedback. Leave your comments—we always take them into account when making decisions.

OPERATOR BALANCE CHANGES

VYMPEL

  • Added upgrade #15-2: "Immunity to Stun while the ability is active."

SSO

  • Adjusted visual behavior of scopes for Paratrooper and Icebreaker Epic Outfits.

22 SPN

  • Duck and Weave personal skill: now reduces damage taken from explosions.

GROM

  • Stay Frosty personal skill: now reduces the duration of Slowed, Trapped, and Stiff effects.
  • Special gear: base gas damage increased from 8 to 10 HP per second.

KSK

  • First Aid ability: now stacks charges (same as with Yàowáng). Initially, has 2 charges.
  • First Aid ability: increased base ability cooldown (per stack) from 20 to 24.
  • Upgrade #8-1 «Special trait: kits created by the ability grant temporary immunity to the Bleeding and Poisoned effects» now also grants immunity to Burning.

Modified upgrade #15-1:

  • Before: "Special trait: primary weapon headshot damage increased while the ability lasts. Headshot damage: +50%."
  • Now: "Special trait: enemies near the target within an area of effect take increased weapon damage." Incoming damage: +10%. Effect duration: 3 seconds.

Modified upgrade #15-2:

  • Before: "Increased slowdown of enemies affected by the special trait." Slowing rate: +20%.
  • Now: "Special trait: enemies near the target within the area of effect receive the Slowed effect." Slowing rate: 30%. Effect duration: 3 seconds.

CST

Modified upgrade #9-1:

  • Before: "The primary weapon damage increases by 20% after several hits to enemies with it."
  • Now: "Primary weapon damage increases by 20% after several headshots to enemies using it."

Game designer’s comment: Initially, this upgrade was intended to compensate for Avalanche’s low damage at sniper range in PvE modes. With this change, the operator will still be good at delivering precision headshots, but her already high damage will not increase for body shots.

TFB

  • Secondary weapon rate of fire increased from 5.5 to 6.5 shots per second.
  • Special gear: base gas damage increased from 8 to 10 HP per second.

RAID

  • Patch ability: now stacks charges (same as with Yàowáng). Initially, has 2 charges.
  • Added upgrade #6-2: «Increases the maximum number of charges, but decreases HP restored by the ability.» Ability charges: +1. Healing: −15 HP.

NESHER

  • Primary weapon: reduced muzzle flash visibility. Previously, it could obscure the aiming reticle.
  • Adrenaline Buzz personal skill: now gives the operator a +45% bonus to the incoming healing. This bonus only applies when the skill is in use.

EZAPAC

  • Medical Drone ability: movement speed increased by 25% (to 8.4 m/sec); rotation speed doubled.

ARYSTAN

  • Tough Nut personal skill: the amount of HP to trigger increased from 30 HP to 40 HP.
  • Tough Nut personal skill: removed trigger restrictions (previously, it could only trigger once per round).

SSO RB

  • Bodyguard Legendary Outfit: adjusted the position of the secondary weapon’s front sight.

AMF

  • Woodward Legendary Outfit: fixed the primary weapon aiming point.
  • Berserker ability: eliminating an operator will now extend the ability’s duration by 3 seconds up to 3 times.

BOPE

  • Enhanced Protection personal skill: no longer incurs slowdown while incapacitated.

RECRUITS

  • Changed default leveling: 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-2.
  • Changed default leveling: 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-1.
  • Changed default leveling: 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-1.
  • Changed default leveling: 1-1, 2-1, 3-2, 4-1, 5-1.
