In the new RE: Balance, we will buff the use of gas and add a new visual effect for it, merge the EMP and Confused effects together and, of course, change the characteristics of some operators.

Gas gets little use nowadays. That’s not surprising at all, seeing as a lot of gas-mask-clad operators who are completely immune to poison have been added to the game.
And if you use gas against an operator who is not immune to poison, they can simply run away from the area of effect.
We’ve decided to buff the poisonous cloud, and here are the results:
1. Gas will not only inflict poison, but will also slow enemies down by 25%. This only applies to operators who don’t have poison immunity.
2. Gas will impair visibility. This one applies to everyone, including operators in gas masks. So don’t hesitate to use it against Kit or similar operators: it won’t damage them but will make them very uncomfortable.
The gas buff also applies to chemist bots in the PvE modes, and to the new gas barrels that can be found on the Amal Harbor and Polar Station maps in some modes.
The EMP and Confused effects work similarly to each other: the former blocks the activation of abilities, and the latter cancels active abilities. So, we’ve decided to merge them.
With the release of the update, EMP will become the ultimate weapon against operators who mostly rely on their abilities in battle. The Confused effect will be removed from the game.
This change will buff all operators who can inflict EMP.
A small change to mines: all mines in the game will be destroyed after one hit. Yes, that includes Corsair’s C4.
Special gear:
Changed linear upgrade #6: The Slowed effect will be applied while holding any weapon, not just the sub-machine gun.

Game designer’s comment: Since gas will now inherently slow enemies down, the upgrade will be changed to an ammo increase instead.
