Hello soldiers!
Update 1.4.1 will introduce a new mechanic: Weapon Objectives. They will allow you to obtain weapon modules in a more controlled manner by completing challenges, unlocking attachments, and gradually building your desired configuration.
At launch, Weapon Objectives will be available for the new Mk 18 AR and another weapon that’s familiar to you all, which we will cover in a separate article.
Today, we’ll take a deeper look at the mechanics, using the Mk 18 as an example.
The new objectives provide a way to get additional weapon modules. By completing them, you will gradually unlock new attachments for the Mk 18.
In the Arsenal: Mk 18 Battle Pass, the new assault rifle will be available for 12 operators. Another version — for the Marksman Scout — will be available exclusively on the website.
Once an operator on your account receives the Mk 18, a Weapon Objective chain will unlock for them. By completing challenges, you can gradually obtain modules specifically for that operator’s version of the Mk 18 and build your desired weapon configuration.
The objectives in the chain are of a similar difficulty but feature different conditions: they rarely repeat for a single operator, so progression won’t require doing the same thing over and over.
Once you obtain the MK 18, basic and rare modules will immediately be available in the weapon settings. This is enough to start building initial attachment setups, but you’ll have to work hard to get the most interesting upgrades: epic modules are unlocked by completing Weapon Objectives. A legendary magazine awaits you at the end of the main chain.
In addition to the main chain, Weapon Objectives will feature special challenges. They are unlocked with Credits or Coins and offer additional legendary modules as rewards.
Weapon Objectives are not time-limited — you can complete them at your own pace.
More than 60 modules are available for the Mk 18 — it’s the largest set of attachments for any weapon in the game yet.
The weapon itself is available to certain operators of three classes: Assaults, Supports, and Marksmen. The set of available modules may depend on the operator.
Here is a complete list of modules available for the Mk 18.
Unless specific restrictions are listed, a module is available to all classes.
Weapon Objectives make obtaining modules for a specific weapon clearer and more predictable.
In Update 1.4.1, we will showcase this mechanic using the Mk 18 as an example, along with another AR that we will cover in a separate article.
After the launch, we look forward to receiving your feedback on this new format, including how convenient it is to unlock modules through objectives, and what should be improved in the future.
