Caliber Ranked Season IV: User's Manual

With Update 0.13.0, Caliber will begin the fourth season of Ranked Battles, the regular competitive PvP mode. The new season is called Operation Icebreaker and will last two months.

The new season begins with a decrease in rating, Rank Emblems, and the previous season participants’ leaderboard positions. Tokens earned in Ranked Battles Season III will be returned to players’ accounts.

Seasonal innovations

Changes to the Rules

For the Operation Icebreaker duration, Hacking switches from the standard PVP mode to a special mode for the Ranked Battle IV season.

During this period, the rules will be slightly changed in Hacking:

  • a battle on one map lasts up to 5 wins of one of the teams;
  • side switching occurs every 3 rounds;
  • when switching sides, operators do not replenish ammunition, Stamina, and special gear;
  • destroyed objects are restored on the map every side switch;
  • ammo boxes are updated every 8 minutes;
  • friendly fire and penalties for it are enabled;
  • Armor is not restored between rounds;
  • There is a penalty for death: a player in the Incapacitated state gets maximum Hit Points reduced by 10 until the end of the round after revival;
  • there can be no draws.
Downgrade and accelerated league transition

The players’ rating did not reset in the new season but decreased. In summary, the downgrade has pushed most players down two or three leagues. In addition, the number of Victory Rounds required to gain a new rank has changed. Thus, it will now be possible to reach higher leagues faster.

Season rewards

Players will receive rewards for every first victory per day: temporary event currency and a container with a random prize. The value of the prize depends on the player’s league at the time of receiving the container.

The rewards for Gold, Platinum, and Diamond have increased this season, while the rewards for Bronze have dropped slightly.

Every five wins in Ranked Battles will earn you additional Tokens. The so-called Season Task has no limit on the number of executions, it won’t reset, and the number of Tokens for a completed task grows as the league rises.

At the end of the season, the player is entitled to two more types of rewards:

  • for the maximum league reached by the player;
  • for the player’s current league at the end of the season.

Players in the Platinum or Diamond leagues at the end of the season will receive, among other prizes, containers with the Mercenary legendary outfits for the RAID collection. Each such container will have 4 slots, where the first slot opens free of charge, and each next opens for Coins: 1500, 1850, 2150 coins, respectively. Each slot contains the Mercenary legendary outfit for an operator. The reward in the container can be selected openly; compensation for the outfit already on the account will be issued in Fragments.

The materials sets in the current league containers will differ at the end of the season. The higher the league, the more materials in each of the three slots of the container there will be.

Ranked Battles Armory

For the Ranked Battles event, a temporary currency, Tokens, is introduced in Caliber. They can be earned in three ways:

As daily rewards for your first Ranked Battles victory.

For Season Task. In Operation Icebreaker, they are given for every fifth victory.

Some will be credited at the end of the season as part of the rewards for the maximum reached league and the league in which the player is at the end of the season.

Ranked Armory will be available to players throughout the Ranked Season and one week after.

Armory offers rewards from past seasons and new rewards created exclusively for Operation Icebreaker.

Ranked Emblems

The Emblem system remained unchanged. Like in the previous season, Emblems are not given as a reward at the season end but change dynamically depending on the player’s league. Dynamic Emblem immediately appears on the player’s account; initially, it is a non-league one and gains league status after the first game. It can be used in any game mode. The Emblem will display the player’s league until the new Ranked Battle season.

Matchmaking system

For more balanced teams to participate in matches, we divided each league into two parts. The first part of the league ranges from V to III rank, and the second is from II to I rank. The selection of players in the fireteam and the enemy team is carried out in such a way so that only users from neighboring parts of the leagues are in the match. The same rule applies to the search for a game in the fireteam: players can gather in a fireteam only if they are no further than one part of the league from each other.

Who can participate in Ranked Battles

Any player whose account meets two conditions can participate in Ranked Battles:

  • the player’s account has reached level 15;
  • the player has at least one operator with 15 upgrades researched and purchased.

There will be five leagues in the Ranked Battles mode: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Each league from Bronze to Platinum has five ranks. Ranking progress depends on the success of the battles. The player receives a Rank Point for each victory and loses one for each defeat.

In the Bronze League, points for defeat are not deducted.

In addition, in the new season, the number of rank points required to reach the ranks of the Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond leagues has been changed. Now, to move to the new rank of the Silver league, you need 3 wins, and for the Gold and Platinum leagues, 4 wins.
